[ARCHIVED] HANDLING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS

Household paint, oil, antifreeze and similar products can cause hazards. If simply left inside of a garbage can, there is a chance that the liquid can leak, causing problems for pets and people, including those who have to clean it up.

Your local residential waste collection company is not obligated to pick up tires, batteries, paint and other liquid or sludge waste.

TIPS:
* Leftover paint- dry in small amounts and place in trash.
* Oil and filters- bring to City of Reno Public Works Department.
Call 903-785-0722 for details.
* Antifreeze- bring to City of Reno Public Works Department, or
take to a service station/repair garage that accepts spent antifreeze.
